Admission to our bachelor's degree programmes
All Bachelor’s degree programmes offered by Politecnico are capped to a limited number of student decided by the academic bodies of the University every year.
Prospective students must take a test, called TIL (Test di Ingresso online/Online Admission Test) for admission to these bachelor's programmes:
- all programmes of the Engineering area
- Design and Communication
- Territorial, Urban, Environmental and Landscape Planning
- Industrial Manufacturing Technologies.
The TIL-I test is an individual test which is different for each applicant. It is made up of automatically and randomly selected computer interface questions.
For admissions to our Bachelor’s degrees programmes in academic year 2022/23:
- all applicants (EU nationals and/or Equivalent students) will take the admission test in person at Politecnico.
- quota applicants will take the admission test online
The rules for the admission test for the Bachelor’s degree programme in Architettura-Architecture are currently being defined by the Ministry of University and Research. In academic year 2021/22, in consideration of the COVID-19 emergency, the Ministry has ordered that the admission tests, normally organized at national level, should be developed and administered by each university. Last year, at Politecnico di Torino, prospective students took the admission test, called TIL-A (Test d'ingresso online - Architettura), online from their homes.
Admission test (TIL) in person
The TIL test for Italian citizens, EU nationals and Equivalent students will take place in the computer laboratories of the university (LAIB) at the main campus of Politecnico di Torino.
You will learn about the specific LAIB where you will take the admission test on your personal page of the Apply@polito platform as soon as you complete your payment.
You must have a valid “green pass” (Certificazione verde COVID-19) or a “certificate of exemption from vaccination against COVID-19” and an ffp2 mask in order to be allowed inside the University.
You have also to download the registration receipt (statino) as soon as you complete your payment; on the registration receipt you will find the access credentials to be used at the test.
Remote admission tests (TIL)
For admissions to our Bachelor’s degrees programmes in academic year 2022/23, quota applicants will take the admission test online.
You will be able to book your remote test and take it safely from home, wherever you are.
To take the remote admission test you just need to have a desktop PC or a laptop PC plus another mobile device. Both devices must have a video camera and a stable Internet connection.
How to register for the test
First of all, you must register for the admission test on the Apply@PoliTO portal.
After you register for the test, you must pay the registration fee, respecting the procedures and deadlines indicated in the “Calls for applications for admissions to the Bachelor’s degree programme of Politecnico di Torino” which are published on the University website.
Materials to prepare for the test
After you register to the Apply@PoliTO portal, you will be able to log in to your personal page of the portal. There, you will find specific multimedia materials that will help you prepare for the test, such as a test simulator, bridging courses in Mathematics and Physics, quick guides with information on the test topics.

Admission to our master's degree programmes
The master's degree programmes offered by Politecnico are free to access, except for the master's degree programmes in Industrial Production engineering and Technological Innovation and the international major of the master's degree programmes in Physics of Complex Systems and Nanotechnologies for ICTs, which are regulated by specific calls for applications, that can be consulted on the General Notice Board.
To be admitted to the master's degree programmes you have to meet the following requirements:
- have a three-year Bachelor's degree or university diploma, or other educational qualification obtained outside Italy and recognized as suitable for admission
- meet the curricular requirements
- have an academic performance considered suitable for admission
- have an English language certificate level B2

How to register
To apply you need to register on the Apply@PoliTO portal.
You can submit your application even if you haven’t obtained your Bachelor’s degree yet, but you need to have earned at least 140 credits at Bachelor’s level on the date of application submission.
You can apply for a maximum of 2 Master’s degree programmes. If you apply for a Master’s degree programme taught both in English and in Italian, it won’t be counted as 2 choices, but as a single choice. e.g. Ingegneria Meccanica + Mechanical Engineering = 1 choice.
Applications will open by the end of May, please check the website of the master's degree programme for the deadlines.
